Leadership Council
The Raíces Project is advised by a Leadership Council made up of twelve individuals - three from each of the four states of the initiative. The Leadership Council was created as a way for Raíces to maintain its value as a Latino-led and Latino-accountable project. The council meets quarterly to discuss the project and offer the wisdom of the community to the project management. Over the four years of the Raíces project, membership on the Leadership Council will change at least two times.
While on the Leadership Council, representatives will:
Ensure that the Raíces Project holds true to its principles and practices;
Provide guidance in the early stages of the Raíces Project;
Serve as a link to each of the cluster communities involved in the project;
Provide essential connections between the four project states: Iowa, Minnesota, Idaho, Oregon;
Share knowledge of strengths and needs of local, regional, and national rural Latino communities;
Serve as an advisory group for the project evaluation;
Assist in the creation of the future direction of the project, including the development of sustainable organizations;
Please welcome the Raíces Council Members to the project, and take a moment to thank them for their service!

"If you give me a fish, you have fed me for a day. If you teach me to fish, then you have fed me until the river is contaminated or the shoreline seized for development. But if you teach me to organize, then whatever the challenge, I can join together with my peers and we will fashion our own solution."
